The Colorado State Patrol took a man into custody Sunday after gunfire erupted during a road-rage incident on northbound Interstate 25 at Interquest Parkway in Colorado Springs.

The incident happened just after 1 p.m. when a passenger in a silver GMC truck fired a bullet into the driver’s side front tire of a white Chevrolet Tahoe, according to the State Patrol.

The GMC truck exited the highway, while the white Tahoe pulled to the right shoulder of I-25.

Officers detained occupants of the GMC truck, and upon investigation, Scott Postlethwait, 45, from Indiana, was taken into custody.

A firearm was located during the on-scene investigation.

Postlethwait was later booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment and felony menacing.

Cpl. Heather Cobler said an investigation will determine how the incident started. The patrol is asking any witnesses to call (719) 544-2424.
