Getting your player ready...

It was only about six months ago that co-headlined with recreationally legal weed. He’s working on an album with the figurehead of weed himself, . At the 4/20 show earlier this year, Wiz never stopped smoking on stage, then he announced that it was time for a smoke break. Most of his songs are considered stoner anthems.

But, the guy you might remember from such hits as “Roll Up,” “So High” and the album, “Rolling Papers” doesn’t want you to think of him as a stoner anymore, he said in an :

“I was just talking with one of my homies yesterday, I kind of want to break the stigma of everything I do is like a ‘stoner this’ or a ‘weed head’ that,” Khalifa said. “Thatap what I built my marketing off of and my brand but at the end of the day everyone who is successful in film or in music getap high and they don’t look at them as “the stoner.” When I get past that point I think I’ll make more movies and do different things so to people it doesn’t look forced or look like I’m trying to change lanes or change gears. It’ll just be people ready for me to do that anyway.”

In the video, he even uses air quotes when referring to the term “stoner” like its some sort of anti-drug PSA. What happened to you, Wiz?

This is like Michael Cera announcing that he’s going to be a UFC fighter or Kim Kardashian becoming a nun or Chipotle going into the tire manufacturing business.

What’s next, Wiz? Are you going to score Broadway plays? Maybe make a series of children’s albums? Why not pick up jazz flute?
