Chef-farmer Eric Skokan of Boulder recently published “Farm Fork Food,” a cookbook. (Cyrus McCrimmon, The Denver Post)
It’s been a good year for chef-farmer : His farms have recovered from the devastating 2013 Front Range floods, his Boulder restaurants — and — are chugging along, and he recently published a cookbook, “Farm Fork Food.”
Food fans can meet Skokan on Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. during a talk and signing session at Boulder Book Store, 1107 Pearl St. Vouchers to attend are $5 and are good for $5 off Skokan’s book or a purchase the day of the event. Vouchers can be purchased in advance, over the phone (303-447-2074) or at the door.
It’s a handsome book — all 240 pages of it — packed with color plates and accessible recipes. It was published by Kyle Books, along with lustrous photographs by Con Poulos, and sells for $29.95.
The recipes reflect Skokan’s farm-to-table ethos, with deep winter dishes such as braised beef short ribs with gnocchi, cardoons and kale, or summery takes such as Tom Thumb lettuce with grilled apples and cheddar.
