“Thank you” can only begin to share our country’s gratitude and debt to members of the armed forces for their heroism, sacrifice and dedication. But a good freebie always helps, and many businesses are eager to oblige on Tuesday for Veterans Day. Vets who map out a plan can have breakfast, lunch and dinner all on the house. A few of our favorites: Denny’s knocks out a free “Build Your Own Grand Slam” breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon. Red Robin offers veterans a free Red’s Tavern Double burger and Bottomless Steak Fries. Famous Dave’s BBQ serves up a free Georgia Chopped Pork sandwich and one side from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vets can choose from seven dinner entrées or any lunch combo at Chili’s. Applebee’s offers a free signature entrée all day. And at On the Border Mexican Grill, vets get their free pick from the “Create Your Own Combo” menu.
