Because of the frigid weather, the Colorado Department of Transportation announced Tuesday it is postponing the 31-hour closure scheduled for this weekend for bridge demolition work at U.S. 6 and Federal Boulevard.
The closure had been scheduled to start at 10 p.m. Saturday, with work continuing until 5 a.m. Monday. The closure will now take place in December on a weekend that will not compete with the Parade of Lights or any Broncos home game.
As part of the $102 million U.S. Bridges Design Build Project, CDOT and its contractors are replacing six obsolete bridges on U.S. 6 between Knox Court and Interstate 25.
