As Thornton’s bike trails push north, KB Home shows off the access it has at a grand opening tomorrow at Trailside

The master-planned city of Thornton, with loads of attractive land around the nexus at I-25 and 470/Northwest Parkway, already has its trails pushing into the area — one now in place to its 8-out-of-10-star-rated Silver Creek Elementary School. From there, the proposed routes will trace north along cottonwood-lined ditches to a 33-acre open space north of 470 – where tomorrow KB Home will show you the prime trail access its homes will have at Trailside, an enclave that’s grand-opening around the site of a five-acre park set to open next summer.

You’ll see four furnished models from two collections: an Estates series designed for some 60-foot-wide sites (including 3-car garages and possibilities for walkouts) and a Reserve series where KB Home will offer some homes from as low as the $330s – prices that should look attractive to buyers who have shopped the area and who want this kind of commuter access to new high-tech employers both in Thornton and further west along the U.S. 36/Flatiron corridor.

“Thornton has been very popular with homebuyers due to the central location, along with great parks and city services,” says Matt Mandino, Colorado Division President for KB Home. “Our Trailside has a distinct quality of design that will be very well received by the families that live here.”

In addition to the commuter access (a direct interchange off York east to DIA or west into Flatiron and Interlocken; or via I-25 into downtown) the site already has Larkridge Shopping Center with Home Depot, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Chili’s, and Famous Dave’s within a mile;, and is linked via York and 144th to Orchard Town Center with loads of eateries, plus theaters, new St. Anthony Medical Pavilion, Super Target and more. KB Home’s Mike Alley and Steve Mondek are already seeing plenty of interest in advance of tomorrow’s grand opening, including buyers wanting ranches (two of the models are ranch, and KB Home can show you plans for 11 more!)

The ranches – or KB Home’s family-sized 2-stories, for that matter – offer even better size-to-value prospects for buyers who have KB Home include finished basement as part of their purchase. You’ll see that in the models – such as the Avana ranch, shown as two bedrooms plus a study up, 2,293 square feet, plus an added guest suite, and rec room shown with wet bar in the basement, something you could have done for another $38,000 or so. You’ll view wide-open great rooms with 2-sided fireplace options, some with the other firebox opening to a covered deck. Get started with KB Home on one of these, notes Mondek, and you can be one of the first families to plan your ‘Built-to-Order’ options using a new design center, opening this month.

Tomorrow’s grand opening at Trailside includes refreshments and reusable grocery bags while they last. Take I-25 north past 470 to Highway 7 and head east 1.5 mile to York, then turn south.
