Espresso Americano, a Central American coffee chain, is opening its first United States location in Greenwood Village on Nov. 17.
The 1,550-square-foot store will be at 5322 DTC Blvd., No. 200 in the Village Plaza Shopping Center. It is the first of five stores planned over the next several months for metro Denver, according to a media release.
The Greenwood Village location will feature 50 indoor and outdoor seats, including a community table for business meetings. In addition to coffee, the store will offer a limited food menu, tea, chocolates, granita and coffee accessories. It will be open 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
At 3 p.m. Nov. 17, CEO Eduardo Kafati will be at the store to make some remarks at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Espresso Americano has a very grassroots approach as a business. Although this is our first store in the U.S., we have been in business for 80 years, our farm is still family-run and we grow 80 percent of our coffee, which we then roast ourselves,” David Kubena, director of North America for Espresso Americano, said in a statement. “There is incredible pride all the way down the line.”
Espresso Americano is a Honduras-based company with 165 stores throughout Central America, including in Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The chain specializes in offering espresso beverages made from Arabica beans but will also serve lattes, cappuccinos, signature drip coffee and specialty drinks.
