Sen. Nancy Todd nominated Carroll, a fellow Aurora Democrat, for the post. Carroll currently is the Senate president, but next year Democrats will be in the minority after . The GOP hasn’t pulled off that feat since 2002.
“I’ve served in the majority and I’ve served in the minority,” Todd said. “There’s disappointment. We all feel it today. … But I do believe under Morgan’s leadership we can make lemonade out of lemons. And as I said to Morgan, the only thing we need is to add is a little bit of vodka.”
