Getting your player ready...

That listed 11 p.m. tipoff Monday for the Colorado men’s basketball game in Boulder against Auburn is not a typo.

The Buffaloes (1-0) agreed to the late-night, early-morning slot to be part of the ESPN Networks’ “Tip-Off Marathon” that spans 24 hours. The Colorado vs. Auburn (1-0) game will be shown on ESPN2.

CU’s shootaround will be at 6 p.m., the pregame meal at 7. CU coach Tad Boyle said he hopes his players can get in a nap during the afternoon.

“It will be very unusual, but Auburn has to do the same thing,” Boyle said.

Under new coach Bruce Pearl, Auburn opened Friday night with an 83-73 victory over Milwaukee. Pearl returned to coaching after sitting out three years per a penalty imposed by the NCAA for recruiting violations at Tennessee.

Against Milwaukee, the Tigers got 20 points from 6-foot-4 guard KT Harrell and 18 points and 17 rebounds from 6-7, 270-pound forward Cinmeon Bowers.

“Bruce Pearl is a good coach,” Boyle said. “He has something like eight presses. We have to be ready to roll.”

CU opened its season Friday night with a 65-48 victory over Drexel in Boulder.
