Getting your player ready...

Remember about how Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer and Peyton Manning got into it after the 2007 Pro Bowl?

Sure you do. Manning supposedly made a wisecrack about Michael Strahan’s divorce and Glazer responded with a string of expletives and threats.

Right, so just in case you thought that was totally made up, Glazer joined Bomani Jones and Dan La Batard on ESPN’s “Highly Questionable” on Thursday to reassure everyone that, yes, he did curse out Manning and threaten to beat him.

Here’s how it all went down, according to Glazer:

“(Peyton) was actually saying something about Strahan and, you guys know, he’s my best friend. You can stay something about me and I don’t really care, but if you say something about my friend, I’m gonna get you.

“And he started saying something, and I started saying coming back at him, and the funniest thing was I had (UFC fighter) Chuck Liddell there with me. He was coming out. This was before anybody really knew who Chuck was, and he was coming out, he was hanging out with me and we were all just kind of lit up. And Peyton and I kinda got after it, I kinda got into him and his friend stepped up for him.

“So now all of a sudden it’s two-on-one. Well my friend stepped in for me, but my friend is Chuck Liddell. So Chuck comes in there and all of sudden Peyton’s friend (steps back) and goes back over here.”

After then detailing his fight with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger at the Tahoe Celebrity Golf Classic, Glazer admitted he’s “not the most mature guy in the world” and confirmed that he did threaten to kick Manning’s butt (with a different word choice) as was reported in the GQ story.

“What am I gonna say, ‘Bleep you, come kick mine?'” Glazer said.

Neither of them kicked the other’s butt. BUT IF IT HAD GONE DOWN, Glazer — who is in business with MMA legend Randy Couture and trains NFL players in MMA — has a strategy in mind.

“I think with football players, you got to low-leg kick somebody right off the bat,” he said. “It just screws with them.”

And for Manning, Glazer said he wouldn’t need long.

“About six or seven seconds,” he said with a smirk.

Among the other gems you’ll learn about Glazer and his many beefs in this interview:

  • He used to be a stand-up comedian, bouncer and bartender in New York City.
  • He once got into with a Twitter troll who Adam Schefter blocked.
  • He’s going to the Playboy Mansion this week and he’d like to bring along Dan Le Batard’s father.
  • The craziest thing he heard in a locker room was at Mile High Stadium.
  • He’ll get very upset if you ever use “a” before a word that starts with a vowel or “h” around him.

Enlightening, isn’t it?
