Denver Union Station will host the inaugural New Year’s Eve Bootlegger Ball. (Brent Lewis, The Denver Post)
Denver Union Station will host the first annual New Year’s Eve Bootlegger Ball, and it sounds like it will make for a swank and festive evening in the renovated train depot, which .
The gala at 1701 Wynkoop St. launches Dec. 31 at 8 p.m., with three floors of entertainment. There will be live music, a DJ, complimentary drinks and bubbles, a private speakasy and, of course, the countdown to midnight madness and kissing complete strangers.
It will be a tickets-only event. A general admission ticket priced at $150 a person includes access to the Terminal Bar and Great Hall, entry to the underground speakeasy, appetizers and desserts, three drink tickets for wine and beer (there will be a cash bar beyond that), free bubbles at midnight, a live band, DJ and dancing, and the usual New Year’s gear. (No need to bring your own noisemaker, apparently, though feel free to sport your own silly hat.)
The Countdown at the Cooper ticket is $475 per couple/duo. That ticket gets LoDo-goers access to the upstairs Cooper Lounge, access to the Great Hall party and its rooms, an all-night open bar with top-shelf liquors, sundry noshing, music, champagne at midnight and all the music.
The Crawford Hotel is also offering a New Year’s package that includes a stay. More info on that at or 720-460-3200. RTD will offer free light rail and bus service on New Year’s Eve starting at 7 p.m. and running until 6 a.m., so take advantage of it.
Tickets for the Bootlegger’s Ball can be purchased at .
All together now: Woo-hoo!
