A toy replica hand grenade found under an employee’s car at a Colorado Springs news television station prompted calls to the bomb squad and has led to a police investigation.

An employee at KKTV on the 500 block of East Colorado Avenue found the replica about 8:30 p.m., thinking it was a real hand grenade, police said. The city’s bomb squad arrived finding that it was only a toy.

Police say they are investigating.
