A pot-hungry deer in southern Oregon is giving new meaning to the term doe-eyed.

Sugar Bob is “a medical marijuana farm deer that spends its day nibbling on fallen pot leaves and the occasional bud,” according to , which encountered the animal when its reporters were in southern Oregon covering the cannabis culture in Applegate Valley.

“When I’m down here, he either stays pretty close to me or he’ll go in the trim room and just get on the bed,” grower Richard Davis told OPB of the nug-nibbling deer. “He cleans up all the stuff off the floor, so he’s ready for a nap.”

OPB’s short video (above) is a startling representation of nature — a wild animal, considered something of a pet by Davis, finding sustenance where it can.
