Interview with Constance Artigues, founder and president

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: I have owned and managed a large sales firm with more than 60 locations nationwide. My company sold custom closets through the Home Depot, Sears and the Great Indoors. I specialized in designing and selling more than a dozen different custom storage and organization solutions. I realized that everyone needs an easy, cost-effective storage solution to install themselves.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: The closet business offers wire or melamine solutions. That is for both the custom and over-the-counter solutions. Not since 1983 has there been a new material introduced. I wanted a product that a woman — or anyone with little carpentry skills — could install in less than an hour. These other solutions take a day or a weekend to install, and that is if you have all the right tools. KiO (Keep it Organized) is aesthetically beautiful with a European design and revolutionary looks.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: That it helps people solve problems and makes daily life easier.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Getting our name recognized and educating people on the ease of the product.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: That it is 100-percent made in the United States of America.
