Authorities have identified a , saying he was struck by five vehicles.

Richard Tababi, 33, of Fort Collins, was wearing all black and running across the southbound lanes of the highway when he was first struck, according to the State Patrol.

Tababi was first hit by a Toyota pickup truck and thrown into the roadway, where he was hit by an additional four vehicles.

Tababi, who investigators suspect was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Trooper Nate Reid. His disabled vehicle was found just north of the crash area on the shoulder of E-470.

The collision happened about 7:20 p.m. near the Quincy Avenue exit, Reid said.

Authorities ask anyone who witnessed the collision to call the State Patrol at 303-239-4501.
