Terrance Knighton said he’ll root for point guard Rajon Rondo wherever he lands. (Joe Amon, The Denver Post)
Terrance “Pot Roast” Knighton will don a Mavericks jersey. He’ll don a Rockets jersey. Heck, he’ll even don Lakers jersey if he has to.
The Connecticut native has long rooted for the Celtics, but be clear: He’s a Rajon Rondo fan. He likes the Celtics, sure. But he’s a Rajon Rondo fan, first and foremost.
So when news broke Thursday afternoon that the Boston point guard was drawing trade interest (a yearly occurrence for Rondo) from the Mavericks, Rockets and Lakers (among other teams), Knighton weighed in. First on Twitter …
Let me make this clear…… Lol WHEREVER RONDO GETS TRADED TO IM FOLLOWING AS A FAN…….

… and then to The Post. At the time, the Mavericks were reported to be in close talks with the Celtics, but the Rockets were also in play and the Lakers, , offered Jordan Hill and a first-round pick for Rondo and Jeff Green. That offer, Amick reported, was shot down.
“I would love for him to go to the Rockets, but I think personality wise and his defensive mentality won’t match up there,” Knighton said. “I think his personality and Kobe’s personality is what a young team needs in L.A. And Jeff Green could be a scorer — he won’t have to be the center of attention — and I think them at the one, two and three is elite.”
“Where ever Rondo goes, I’m going,” Knighton added. “So before people start saying I’m a bandwagon Lakers, Dallas or Houston fan, I’m a Rondo fan.”
Minutes later, that the Mavericks and Celtics had agreed in principle to a deal that would send Rondo to Dallas for Brandan Wright, Jameer Nelson, Jae Crowder and a pair of draft picks.
Which means you can bet Knighton will be rocking a blue and white jersey soon.
