NEW YORK — Contained within the Nuggets’ 102-96 loss to Brooklyn on Tuesday night were a couple of good offensive performances, from point guard Ty Lawson and forward Kenneth Faried.

Lawson finished with 29 points, nine assists and four rebounds, nearly cracking the 30-point mark for the second time this season. He was aggressive from the start and had 17 points and seven assists by halftime.

“I’m happy to see Ty be more aggressive and take it on himself to get himself going,” Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. “He’s still making the plays in terms of passing to the other guys. They’re having a hard time shooting the ball.”

Lawson averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 assists in the quick, two-game road trip.

Meanwhile, Faried had his best all-around offensive game since the first contest of the season. He finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds. It was his first time hitting the 20-point mark since the season opener, where he had 22. And the 14 rebounds were his most since that first game as well, in which he had 17.

“I’m getting back to how I need to play,” Faried said. “Since I had the conversation with Coach (Shaw), my confidence is up again. And I’m having fun. I’m enjoying the game. I know I can go out there and have a smile and just have fun.”
