The Denver music scene doesn’t leave town for Christmas week. It doesn’t take a break. No, no. Denver musicians spend the week here with their musician family. On Dec. 26, Paper Bird will headline a hometown-friendly show at the Bluebird Theater with fellow local act the Centennial. Singer Carleigh Aikens joined the Paper Bird this fall after Esme Patterson parted ways with the band after eight years. Looking at Paper Bird’s Facebook page leading up to the show, it appears that they’ll have some new material to gift out to the crowd. Thanks for the belated present, Paper Bird. ($18-$20, )
In terms of Internet following, you could say that Dirty//Clean is one of Denver’s most popular new labels. Its roster of artists has thousands of fans, plays and followers on the Web — from Facebook to Soundcloud. Part of it has to do with its long list of talent from Denver and San Francisco. These experimental electronic and dance producers have an almost viral following online. On Dec. 26, Dirty//Clean celebrates its three-year anniversary with a show at the Larimer Lounge. The night brings Bedrock, Mosis, Dawn Safari, Gunkst and Glassy. ($5-$10, )
