LONDON — Oil giant BP PLC on Tuesday said production has started from the Kinnoull field in the central North Sea, its seventh and final major upstream project startup in 2014.
The Kinnoull reservoir, developed as part of a wider rejuvenation of the Andrew field area, 140 miles east of Aberdeen, Scotland, is expected to enable production there to be extended by a further decade, BP said.
Production from Andrew and Kinnoull is forecast to peak at over 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and is expected to make a significant contribution to BP’s commitment to grow its operating cash flow, it added.
BP operates and has a 77.06 percent interest in Kinnoull, alongside co-venturer JX Nippon Exploration and Production Limited.
