Getting your player ready...

Just about everything is iced over, including most streams and rivers. There is still some open river fishing in towns, such as the Arkansas in Pueblo, Poudre in Fort Collins and South Platte in Denver. People are starting to venture out on the ice at Cherry Creek, Chatfield and Bear Creek reservoirs. Extreme caution is advised as the ice varies from a few inches to 1 or 2. It’s still best to head high, where there’s much better ice. Fishing has been good at Red Feathers area waters. South Park is seeing a lot of traffic, and fishing has been mixed, some doing well, others not so much. Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain and Willow Creek are capped, with Willow producing the best action. If this cold persists, look for most Front Range waters to have ice in excess of 4 inches.
