Police in Denver are investigating the death of a man whose body was found outside an apartment complex on a couch early Wednesday as a homicide.
The man, whom police did not identify, was found about 5 a.m. near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Alton Way. Officers initially were dispatched on reports of a man sleeping on a couch outside in the cold before they arrived and determined he was dead.
The man’s body was found near the Community College of Aurora at Lowry, on the city’s eastern edge.
Images from the scene showed the area draped in crime scene tape, investigators scouring the ground for evidence. Police did not release additional details.
“The identification of the victim and cause of death will be released by the coroner’s office,” police said.
Police say they have no suspect but ask anyone with information on the death to call 720-913-7867.
