Connect for Health Colorado, community organizations and churches are partnering to offer free education and in-person assistance with health insurance enrollment.

Six churches in Denver and Aurora and locations in Avon and Fort Collins will open their doors for allowing congregants and others to meet individually with certified health coverage guides and brokers.

“As leaders in our religious communities, we have an opportunity to help our congregations take care of their physical and financial well-being while we work to guide them toward spiritual health,” the Rev. Jules E. Smith of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church said in a statement Thursday. “This is just another chance for us to have a positive impact on the lives of the members of our church.”

Connect for Health Colorado is the online marketplace where individuals, families and small businesses in Colorado can shop, compare, pick and purchase health insurance plans and get access to income-based financial assistance under the Affordable Care Act. The open enrollment period for 2015 coverage ends Feb. 15.
