Travis Peeples has been hired as the , according to the Aurora Sentinel.
Peeples, who was offensive coordinator for a Greeley West team that went 8-3 this season, takes over for Taylor Calvert, who compiled a 6-24 record in three seasons. Central hasn’t had a winning season since 2007.
“He’s a big part of our turnaround. He is a very knowledgeable coach both on offense and defense,” Greeley West coach Jason Renouf said. “… Boy, we’re certainly going to miss him for sure.”
Peeples was the defensive coordinator for Greeley West in 2013 and had previously coached in Florida, Renouf said, including leading a Pop Warner team to the national championship. In the early 1990s, he played quarterback for the University of Central Florida.
Aurora Central finished with a 2-8 record in 2014.
