1 Hightail it out of there. Police received a report of a suspicious van parked in the 15800 block of East 98th Place, Commerce City, on Dec. 27. When an officer pulled up behind the car, it took off through the snow-packed streets and started fishtailing all over the road. The officer watched it hit another car and stop.

2 Pizza attack. A pizza delivery man was bitten by a German Shepherd that lives in a home in the 1400 block of East 128th Avenue, Thornton, on Dec. 19. When he went to hand over the pizza, the dog lunged and bit the man’s calf. Its owner was ordered to put it on quarantine.

3 Nighttime ruckus. Three intoxicated women had police called on them Dec. 23 because they were screaming at each other outside in the middle of the night, in the 1600 block of West 85th Avenue, Federal Heights. They were taken to detox.

4 Asleep in the doorway. The manager of an apartment community in the 9100 block of Tejon Street, Federal Heights, called police Dec. 26 because a homeless person was sleeping in the mailroom of the building.

5 Wandering stranger. A woman saw an unknown man walk up to her front gate in the 10900 block of East 96th Avenue, Commerce City, and then enter her backyard Dec. 26. He was gone before officers arrived.

6 Cocked and loaded. The neighbor of a man who lives in the 1300 block of West 84th Avenue, Federal Heights, called police on her suspicious neighbor Dec. 13. When police knocked on the suspect’s door, they heard the man cock a gun and fire a blank shot inside. He was arrested.
