“Thank God for laptops and cell phones,” Priola said, adding he has read every bill introduced so far.
But there’s not a lot to catch up on. With the on Wednesday, and the governor and statewide constitutional officers , most of the events at the Capitol have been largely ceremonial.
The Henderson Republican was skiing with his family at Beaver Creek on Jan. 3. when he misjudged how high he was in the air and came down on level ground. “I could tell I did something bad to my left leg,” Priola said.
But it was worse then he and his doctor who performed the surgery suspected. The lawmaker broke or fractured his in several places, which required two plates and 10 screws during surgery. In addition he injured and is on oxygen to help him heal. He’s been flat on his back with his left leg in the air.
The 41-year-old said it was a freak accident and if he were older and thinner probably he wouldn’t have injured himself.
