Palmer Ridge’s Eric Hamer was named the 2014-15 Gatorade Colorado boys cross country runner of the year on Thursday.
The 5-foot-10, 140-pound senior won the 4A individual state title with a time of 16:17.7, helping the Bears to the team state title.He also finished third at the Nike Cross Nationals Southwest Regional championships.
“Eric has more resilience than any other athlete I have ever coached,” Palmer Ridge coach Kelly Christensen said in a release. “He always shows up on time and gives us 100 percent every day, no matter how hard his life gets.”
Hamer has a 3.80 grade-point average and is a troop leader with the Boys Scouts of America.
