A Denver grand jury has issued a 44-count indictment that accuses a former NFL player and two other defendants of repeatedly stealing cars by posing as a towing company.
Ostell Shawn Miles, 44, is charged with violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act and 38 other counts, including aggravated motor vehicle theft, theft, forgery and conspiracy to commit identity theft.
Miles was a running back who played two years for the Cincinnati Bengals in the early 1990s. But he’s spent more time in jail in Colorado, running up a 13-page rap sheet with arrests for theft, assault, motor vehicle theft, forgery and identity theft, according to court records.
