Where adjectives fail, raw numbers explain Sunday’s stunning loss, a failure across the board. Denver fell short in every meaningful offensive category compared to their season averages: 114 fewer total yards, 4:24 minutes less in time of possession, 23 fewer rushing yards, 25 percent conversion on third down, a 19 percent dip from the regular season.

Even more alarming, the Broncos averaged 35 points per game at home, falling 23 shy of that number, the 13 points was their lowest total since the final game of the 2011 season, before Peyton Manning arrived.
