Say “yes” to the dress
Weddings can be pricey. However, frugal brides can say “yes” to low-cost options and ideas at the Goodwill Bridal Showcase. On Jan. 24, the Goodwill at 21 S. Broadway will share tips on creating a beautiful budget-friendly wedding. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Members of Goodwill Denver’s free loyalty program, Club Blue, get exclusive access at 7 a.m. In addition, the showcase will sell new and gently used bridal gowns, wedding décor and accessories at a fraction of their retail price. Musical chairs
The University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music orchestrates lots of great music for arts and culture fans. Did you know the school presents 250 concerts every year for free? Many don’t even require a ticket. In addition, the school offers $10 tickets for all Faculty Recitals and Guest Artist Performances. Not to be left out of the bargains, Lamont Opera and Musical Theatre performances have reserved seating, with tickets ranging from just $11 to $30. The Winter Concert Season just started, so there are still plenty of free shows to be enjoyed. The schedule runs through April 19.
