There’s plenty of places to ice fish at this time, but finding waters that are consistently productive has been a bit more difficult. In the metro area, Aurora, Bear Creek and Standley reservoirs have been fairly good for trout, and Aurora is producing a few perch. For those willing to travel, avoid South Park waters, as all have been slow as of late. A much better choice would be Green Mountain or Granby, where the lake trout fishing has been good, although most are small, under 20 inches. North Park waters have been fair. Red Feather area waters are slowing but still producing. An open-water option is the South Platte River in town. For a few the carp fishing has been good, and an occasional trout is showing up.
