The Colorado Eagles coaching staff will need another makeover for next season.

Mark Letestu, who led the club to its best AHL season in franchise history, is leaving after one season for an assistant coaching job with the Vegas Golden Knights. Letestu replaced Aaron Schneekloth, who joined the Seattle Kraken staff as an assistant coach last summer.

The Eagles finished tied for fifth in the AHL regular-season standings this past season, and then advanced to the Western Conference Final in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Colorado had a 3-2 series lead against the Chicago Wolves, but lost Games 6 and 7 at home in Loveland.

One of Letestu’s assistants, Kim Davis, also left the club earlier in the offseason to become the head coach of the PWHL expansion franchise in Las Vegas.
