Police in Colorado Springs are investigating the death of an infant girl early Tuesday morning.
Officers found the girl after responding to reports that she was not breathing about 3:15 a.m. at a home on the 900 block of South Arcadia Street.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered an infant in apparent distress,” police said. “The child was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.”
Officials said there were no signs of trauma to the child.
The police department’s crimes against children unit is investigating the child’s death.
