A man who was shot and killed by Aurora police following a convenience store robbery last week has been identified.
Police said the deceased is 39-year-old Kavonda Payton. Payton and another man, Antione Spencer, 30, reportedly a Fast-N-Friendly Food Mart at 138 N. Del Mar Circle last Thursday at around 10 p.m. After a high-speed chase with police, the suspects were stopped at East 6th Avenue and Tower Road. Shots were fired and Payton was killed.
Spencer was arrested at the scene. Police said he has been charged with aggravated robbery.
