STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A former Steamboat Springs man was injured when his single-engine plane crashed south of the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass.
According to Steamboat Today, an emergency transponder was activated and search and rescue crews were able to reach the remote crash site via snowmobile.
The pilot’s name has not been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
