Commerce City police officers are searching for Nicholas Damon, 29, of Denver, after he reportedly injured two Commerce City police officers Saturday night during a traffic stop.

Damon, who faces charges of assault on a police officer, felony menacing, resisting arrest, vehicular eluding and hit-and-run, was at large Sunday, said Commerce City Detective Christian Rasmussen.

The two officers had minor injuries, Rasmussen said.

Anyone with information about Damon or his whereabouts is asked to call the Commerce City Police tip line at 303-289-3626.

The officers stopped the vehicle at 66th Avenue and Monoco Parkway at 10:15 p.m., Rasmussen said.

During the stop, the officer determined there was a misdemeanor warrant for the driver’s arrest.

When officers attempted to arrest the driver, he resisted and attempted to flee.

“He backed into the patrol vehicle, and the officers tried to tase him,” and he took off, injuring two of the officers. “He didn’t drag the officers he spun them around. Two had minor injuries,” Rasmussen said.

Officers pursued the suspect to the 8200 block of the Interstate 76 Frontage Road where he crashed and he fled on foot.
