Re: “What to do with TABOR excess,” Jan. 19 letter to the editor.
I absolutely agree with letter-writer Susan Williams that spending money on education is returning taxpayer dollars to us. However, do you really blame people for asking the government to live within its means like everyone else? That’s why the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights passed.
I believe our voting population will increase education spending when our leadership shows some financial responsibility, instead of constantly demanding more every year just because they managed to spend a budget. Not necessarily a sign of good value for our tax dollars.
