The Colorado House unanimously passed a bill Monday that would ease restrictions on donations of medication, medical supplies and equipment to nonprofit organizations.

House Bill 1039, sponsored by Rep. Max Tyler, D-Lakewood and Rep. Patrick Neville, R-Castle Rock, would allow a licensed facility to donate medical goods to nonprofits providing services to struggling individuals.

Current law only permits such donations to nonprofits for natural disaster relief.

The bill now moves to the Senate.
