Westminster City Council on Monday chose Maria De Cambra to fill the seat held by Faith Winter, who was elected to the state legislature in November and took office earlier this month.
De Cambra was one of 13 candidates vying for the vacant seat. She was sworn in after she was chosen. Councilman Bob Briggs was elected mayor pro tem, a position Winter had also held.
In another move Monday, Westminster City Council approved a contract with Don Tripp to become the next city manager. He begins the job Feb. 9.
