Denver Manager of Safety Stephanie O’Malley, Denver Police Chief Robert White, state Reps. Rhonda Fields and Angela Williams, and state Sen. Michael Johnston will participate Saturday in a community hearing on race, policing and justice.
The meeting will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shorter Community AME Church, 3100 Richard Allen Court in Denver.
Organizers said other elected and government officials have been invited and are expected to attend.
“I have organized this important gathering in hopes of bringing together individuals that can bridge the current divide that exists and seems to be widening as it relates to law enforcement and legal redress,” said Jeff Fard, founder and director of Brother Jeff’s Cultural Center in Five Points.
“In light of recent shootings and deaths in our community, we must come together and seek solutions.”
