Avalanche winger Jarome Iginla skipped practice Monday morning but was scheduled to accompany the team on an afternoon flight to Dallas and play against the Stars on Tuesday.
Avs coach Patrick Roy said Iginla, 37, is nursing a bruise from blocking a shot in Friday’s 3-0 win over visiting Nashville but should be fine. Iginla leads the team with 16 goals.
Forward Alex Tanguay, who plays left wing on Iginla’s line with center Matt Duchene, practiced Monday with a bandaged left hand. and did not practice with the team Saturday.
Tanguay said he was fortunate that he blocked the shot away from his body, so his hand wasn’t crushed.
The Avs are carrying just 21 available players, and defenseman Stefan Elliott will again be the only scratch against the Stars. Colorado returns home to host the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday before beginning a two-game, consecutive-night trip at Minnesota and Winnipeg on Saturday against the Wild.
