BEAVER CREEK — Because of high winds and blowing snow, the start of the women’s super-G at the world alpine championships has been postponed to 11:30 a.m and the start will be lowered.

The race was scheduled to be shown live on NBC Sports Network at 11 a.m.

Vail’s Lindsey Vonn has start No. 18. Other U.S racers will be Julia Mancuso (11th), Stacey Cook (14th) and Laurenne Ross (28th). Vonn is favored along with Anna Fenninger, Elisabeth Goergl and Cornelia Huetter of Austria, Lara Gut of Switzerland and Tina Maze of Slovenia.
