Avalanche coach Patrick Roy suspects GM Joe Sakic is going to try to stack a probable Colorado-Detroit alumni game during next season’s outdoor event with the Red Wings at Coors Field next February. Patty says he might buy new equipment for the game, if he participates:

Gameday: Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie spoke to the media during an off-ice workout Wednesday and looked fine. He scored the game-tying goal in Tuesday’s dramatic victory at Dallas and participated in the shootout. But he’s out with the hip injury Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings at the Pepsi Center. .
