
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Colorado on Friday began offering free identity-protection services due to last week’s .
It hired AllClear ID in Texas to provide free services, including identity-repair assistance, child-identity protection and credit monitoring. AllClear charges $15 a month for a similar service.
The company discovered the break-in Jan. 29 and now says the breach may have started in early December. It is working with the FBI and a cybersecurity firm.
Anthem reaffirmed Friday that there is “no evidence” attackers stole medical records or credit card numbers. But personal information — Social Security numbers, e-mail and income data — may have been stolen. Security that could lead to identity theft.
