Interview with DeAnn Wieber, founder/president
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: When my son, Sam, was 2 years old, we had to remove gluten from his diet as a test to relieve his eczema. We realized there was not much on the market shelves that was worth eating. We started making our own recipes and liked them so much we decided to share them with others.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Those who must — or choose to — eat gluten-free can actually enjoy it! We bake everything a tummy desires and make it extra yummy, to boot. No gluten — no worries.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Hearing the stories from our customers on what going gluten-free has done for them, and giving them choices beyond white bread and cookies.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Getting the word out to those who need us.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: We recently were asked to offer our products in Whole Foods and we are currently in many restaurants in the area. Our customers could already be eating our products but not know it! We can accommodate most allergies.
