1 Drug cache. A Lakewood officer responded to Walmart, 440 Wadsworth Blvd., on Feb. 4 and arrested a man for for holding three baggies of crystal meth, 38 small baggies of heroin and various drug paraphernalia.

2 Price check. On Feb. 5, a man was arrested for shoplifting at Home Depot, 7200 W. Colfax Ave. He attempted to steal two welders and threatened an employee who tried to stop him. He claimed he was just trying to get a price check .

3 Not mine, it’s the dog’s. Police were called to the 8100 block of West Jewell Avenue, Lakewood, on Feb. 8 after a minor traffic accident. A man was cited for running a red light, and police found a baggie of marijuana and a syringe in his vehicle, which he claimed was for his dog.

4 “Family stuff.” A man was arrested for domestic violence and third-degree assault Feb. 5 in the 8200 block of West 10th Avenue in Lakewood. The man’s significant other had scratch marks on her face and said they were fighting about “family stuff.”

5 Prior DUI. Lakewood police pulled over a motorist for speeding and driving without headlights at 4 a.m. Feb. 4 on West Alameda Avenue near Sheridan Boulevard. The driver was visibly intoxicated. His license had been suspended for prior DUI charges, and he was arrested and taken to detox.

6 Romantic theft. An employee at King Soopers, 7984 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, witnessed a man walk out of the store without paying for a vase of a dozen red roses on Jan. 7. The suspect drove off in a red Ford Taurus. At the time of the report, no arrest had been made.
