A 20-year-old man accused of in November had his arraignment postponed Thursday.

Jahvell Forrest was expected Thursday to enter a plea to several charges, including first-degree attempted murder of a police officer and first-degree assault of a police officer. He faces a total of 13 counts, court records show.

His arraignment has been moved to March 20, court records show.

Forrest of shooting an officer during a traffic stop on the 1700 block of Fulton Street. Police say Forrest was driving a stolen “puffer” car and that he fired at officers as they tried to contact him.

Ryan Burns, an 11-year veteran of the force, was struck and seriously injured.

Police said Forrest had a long criminal history of misdemeanor offenses leading up to the shooting. He in lieu of $1 million bond.
