stopped by and unsurprisingly had a mouthful to say about pretty much everything. He doubled down on his stance about Beck not being a better artist than Beyonce, distanced himself from his ex, Amber Ross, and ranted about fashion. Most notably the Chicagoan says he’s going to take the Beyonce (and now Drake) approach to release his new music as a surprise album.
West also revealed he’s been exchanging beats with and the two might be working on a joint album. West talked about the project, saying that it was supposed to be called “Wolves,” which is the title of the new track that he played on SNL40 with Sia.
“The song came from a conversation me and Drake had where we were supposed to do an album together,” Kanye said. “It was supposed to be called Wolves…we said we was gonna do it, he was sending beats back and forth. I got this one record with Young Thug that I’m gonna put on the Rihanna album…It might happen because I threw that out there, but he probably be mad that I mention it on your show because he dislike y’all so much.”
This isn’t entirely a surprise since Drake mentions wanting to feel like the third member of “The Throne” (alongside Yeezus and Jay-Z) on his latest project “If You’re Reading This Itap Too Late.”
It wouldn’t be the first time Drake and West have worked together creatively. West directed the video for Drake’s “Best I Ever Had,” and there were rumors of a rift that kept the pair from releasing material during Drake’s climb to fame. Perhaps they’ve let bygones be bygones since Kanye’s gone on to focus on clothing and Kardashians and Drake appears to be wiggling out of his contract with Cash Money.
