The town of Erie has everything going for it now – views of the Indian Peaks, very workable commutes to both Denver and Boulder, schools that parents are talking up, and very reasonable prices. Enter Shea Homes, with a 30-year history in Colorado that began with creation of hugely successful Highlands Ranch – now moving on to five Shea3D models that were specially created for Erie, that offer ways to get involved in the design of your home rarely to be had at this price.

At Colliers Hill, the 963-acre master-planned community on Erie Parkway three miles west of I-25, those Shea models (they start as low as the $340s) are drawing traffic as great or greater than Shea sees at its renowned BackCountry enclave in Highlands Ranch, and at its fast-selling Stepping Stone neighborhood in Parker. “I’ve never seen a builder do this,” one buyer said Wednesday to the choice of kitchen arrangements in one Erie model. She said she was ready to join 15 others that have already bought Shea3D plans at Colliers Hill.

“This is an opportunity to design around the way you live, rather than live around the way it’s designed,” says Scott Beaumont, who with Mindy Gallegos and Matt Garcia will show you through. The five models come from two series, two of them lower priced, three larger and more luxurious, each with a distinctive bedroom configuration that sets it apart. But Shea3D also allows you to choose the placement of your kitchen, as well as dining, entertainment, outdoor and other main living areas, the places where people spend the majority of their time.

“Have you ever toured a model home and found that you love the second floor layout, but wish you could reconfigure the first floor to accommodate how you live? Shea3D makes that possible”, said Cheryl Haflich, marketing director for Shea in Colorado. “Our Shea3D plans allow you to actually mix and match what you see between models.”

And you’ll notice eye-catching features: an upstairs loft set behind a barn door off the kids’ bedrooms; doggy bath in the mudroom area; and outdoor living areas. If you like the looks of the ranch model, Shea has one ready for move-in on an oversized lot, two bedrooms and a home office, 1,925 feet plus 2-car garage and partial basement. It’s $421,261 – among a choice of homes priced to move before spring.

You can see where the community amenity center is coming with pool, event lawn, ball fields and clubhouse; and where open space along with neighborhood parks will total 400 acres. And you’ll see how close this is to new Erie High School (read what parents say about it at GreatSchools.org). Erie Tigers football has Shea as a sponsor – one of numbers of Erie events that Shea and Colliers Hill are involved in.
