Getting your player ready...

Just when we thought spring was here with all the open water and warm temperatures, Mother Nature has tossed some cold weather our way. Anglers can expect “skim” ice on many of the recently opened water, making for tough fishing conditions. That will limit open-water options for a few days, so a trip to the high country for ice fishing may be in order. Green Mountain Reservoir continues to be a great bet for smaller lake trout. Rivers and streams are in great shape, a solid option on the days that warm above freezing. Note that Boyd Reservoir is scheduled to open to boating March 1, conditions permitting. Look for other reservoirs to follow suit soon.
