Authorities in Jefferson County have arrested two people in connection with an early-morning auto theft.
The arrests led to police activity and an area search Tuesday morning on U.S. 285 near Morrison, the county’s sheriff’s office said. The arrests were announced at about 7:30 a.m.
Television news helicopter images from the scene showed law enforcement surrounding a vehicle apparently abandoned in the snow off the highway.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the car was stolen out of Douglas County and that authorities there are handling the theft case.
The identities of the suspects have not been released.
